Carl Ruebin Obituary

Carl Albert Ruebin, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on March 6, 1942, in Manchester, Connecticut, to the late Ernest F. Ruebin and Dorothy G. (Kamm) Ruebin, Carl was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown.
Carl attended Manchester High School and afterward, he began a long and dedicated career at Shady Glen. Carl's commitment to his work was unwavering, as he served the community with pride until his retirement in 2008. Carl was a devoted member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester. His faith was a cornerstone and provided him with strength throughout his life. Carl's love for sports was also a defining aspect of his life. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, New York Giants, and the Dodgers, reveling in the highs and lows of each season with the passion only a true fan can muster. He also enjoyed going bowling with his close friend, Joe.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernest F. Ruebin, and his mother, Dorothy G. (Kamm) Ruebin. Carl is survived by his loving sisters, Dorothy Ruebin Neil and her husband Robert, and Freda Mae Ruebin, with whom he lived all his life. The bond he shared with Freda Mae was one of profound companionship and mutual support. Carl's legacy continues through his nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will hold dear the memory of his kindness and gentle spirit.
Carl found joy in the company of his favorite budgie, DJ, who was a source of constant amusement and comfort. He also held in high esteem his faithful aide, Hilary, who provided care and friendship throughout his later years. Special recognition is also given to his caretakers at Touchpoints, Jenny and Ernie, whose dedication and compassion ensured Carl's final days were as comfortable as possible.
His spirit, forever intertwined with the fabric of Manchester, leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
